2005 Eisner Award Nominees: "Ex Machina" received quite a few nominations as did "Astonishing X-Men". I've actually read three of the best serialized story nominees.

I'm such a sports geek. When the x_men100 challenge asked for mock news articles about mutants, I wrote "Higher Faster Stronger" about the effects on the Olympics. The sad thing is I could have written an even longer version, if I was so inclined. I'd like to do a followup to my Kitty/Piotr "if they weren't mutants" encounter... we'll see what happens.
